State Medical Board of Ohio
Ohio MD license renewal deadline: depends on your license
Your license expiration date (renew online at eLicense Ohio, up to 180 days before). Licenses renew every 2 years.
Find your deadline
In Ohio, the date depends on your license: the date two years after your license was issued, and every two years after that.
Reminders 90, 30 and 7 days before. No account needed.
What you need to renew
50 hours every 2 years
ORC 4731.281: a license is valid for two years and expires two years from the date of issuance; each renewal is valid for another two years. The 50 hours are earned in the registration period, the time between the granting or last renewal of the license and the next renewal date (OAC 4731-10-01(G)). Failure to renew automatically suspends the license.
