How we verify requirements
Every renewal requirement we show comes from the Board, the statute or the rule itself, carries the date we last checked it, and is re-checked automatically every week.
Today
100 rule sets (50 states, MD and DO), each checked against its sources between and . These figures are counted from our requirement data each time this page loads.
Primary sources only
We take facts only from the place that sets them: the state medical or osteopathic Board’s own website, the state statute, and the Board’s published rules. We do not copy requirements from course sellers, other summaries or memory. Every state guide lists the exact pages it relies on, so you can read them yourself.
Every fact is dated
Each state’s requirement data records the day every fact was last checked against its sources, and each guide shows the month it was last reviewed. When we correct something, the change and its date are kept in our records.
Sources are re-checked every week
Every Monday morning (Eastern time) an automatic check reads each of the 436 source pages cited by our requirement data and guides and compares it with the week before. When a page changes, moves or stops answering, we re-read it, re-check the states that rely on it, and update the guide and the data if anything changed.
“Confirm with your Board”
Some points are not settled by the published text: the rule is silent, two Board pages disagree, or a change has been proposed but is not yet in force. We don’t guess. Those points are marked “Confirm with your Board” wherever they appear (268 points today), and they stay marked until a primary source settles them.
Your state Board always has the final word. Our guides are a careful summary, not legal advice.
