- Renews every 2 years; licenses expire at December 31 of odd-numbered years (the renewal must be received and complete by then, or the license lapses).

- The rule
- OAR 847-008-0077: an average of at least one hour a year, approved by the Oregon Health Authority or meeting OAR 943-090-0020, reported at least every other renewal. The Board audits it every other renewal; the current audit period for most licensees is 2024-2027, audited at the fall 2027 renewal. Any part of a year licensed needs one hour (3.5 years licensed: 4 hours). Hours can be earned any time in the audit period and need not be CME; CME on the topic also counts toward the 60. Residents and Volunteer Camp licensees are exempt.
