The rule
Occupations Code §156.061 (SB 25) and 22 TAC §161.35(a)(3)(B), effective September 3, 2026: every physician (the Board: "ALL physicians") completes at least 1 credit each biennial renewal, formal or informal, based on the nutritional guidelines recommended by the Texas Nutrition Advisory Committee. The Committee's guidelines now exist: "Dietary Guidelines for Texans" in its August 2026 annual report (posted on the DSHS committee page). The Board says it applies to licenses expiring on or after May 30, 2027.
