First renewal
R. 2.3: licensees who receive their initial Mississippi license after June 30 are exempt for the period following licensure; the CME is due within the next cycle. The rule's example: a license issued August 3, 2025 does not need CME until the end of the July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2028 cycle. The Board's page says initial licensure during the current cycle exempts you for that cycle only.
Reporting
You certify CME completion on each annual renewal (R. 2.4–2.5). Since February 27, 2026, you no longer send CME documentation to the Board: you must keep an account with a Board-recognized CME tracking system and upload certificates as you earn them, unless you maintain active ABMS or AOA board certification (lifetime certification without maintenance does not qualify). The Board selects licensees at random for review; deficiencies must be made up within six months of notice, or the license may be suspended. Waiver requests for legitimate cause must be made before April 1 of the last year of the cycle (R. 2.6).
Board
Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure

30 Miss. Admin. Code Pt. 2610, R. 2.1 (amended, approved December 12, 2025, filed January 27, 2026): 40 hours of Category 1 CME in each two-year cycle as a condition of renewal. Cycles began July 1, 2024 and run every two years (July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2028; July 1, 2028 through June 30, 2030). The license itself renews every year (May 1 to June 30); you attest to CME on each annual renewal. Excess hours do not carry over.
