- Board
- Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision
- The rule
- 59 O.S. 495a.1(C) and OAC 435:10-15-1(a)(4): at least 1 hour of education in pain management, or in opioid use or addiction, in each year preceding an application for license renewal, unless you show the Board that you do not hold a current DEA registration. It is due every year, at each annual reregistration, even though the 60 general hours are reported every three years. The law does not limit providers.

- Board
- Oklahoma State Board of Osteopathic Examiners
- The rule
- 59 O.S. 641(D)(2) and OAC 510:10-3-8(b)(2): 1 of the 16 hours every year on prescribing controlled dangerous substances, dedicated to pain management, opioid use or addiction, from a course previously approved by the OSBOE (the Board keeps a list of approved proper prescribing courses). The sponsor reports it to CE Broker. Osteopathic physicians without Oklahoma OBNDD or DEA authority to handle controlled substances are exempt and enter that exception in CE Broker. The Board's 2026 newsletter says it also authorized a completed educational audit to meet this hour.
