First renewal
R 338.141(2) applies to a renewing licensee who has been licensed in the 3-year period immediately preceding the application; because the license term runs 3 years from the issue date, the full 150 hours apply at the first renewal. LARA's renewal attestation states the 150 hours 'if licensed during the full 3-year renewal cycle'.
Credit minimum
Confirm with your Board R 338.143(2)(a): at least 40 hours from programs approved or offered by the AOA or the Michigan Osteopathic Association. Separately, R 338.143(1)(d) requires at least 60 hours from the category 1 activities in R 338.143(2) (which also include AMA/ACCME/MSMS programs, board exams and MOC) and caps category 2 at 90 hours. The rule does not list the AAFP, so AAFP Prescribed credit counts only if the activity is also approved or offered by one of the named organizations (for example ACCME-accredited).
Reporting
You attest on the renewal application that you met the requirements; no certificates are submitted. LARA audits a random sample after each renewal period (R 338.141(4)); audited licensees upload proof (LARA's CE Broker page says audit documentation goes into CE Broker). Keep CE records for 4 years after applying for renewal (R 338.141(3)) and implicit bias records for 6 years (R 338.7004(6)). Using CE Broker is optional; the Board does not keep a record of your CE.
Board
Michigan Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery (LARA, Bureau of Professional Licensing)

Mich Admin Code R 338.7002 lists osteopathic medicine and surgery licenses as expiring triennially on the issue date. Under R 338.141(2) the 150 hours must be earned during the 3 years immediately preceding the application for renewal; the implicit bias hours must also fall within that cycle.

Deadline
